Chesswas have been manufacturing fine wares since at least 1818 Mr T.E Chesswas was making staffordshire pottery at Lane end at this time with the famous maker W. Ratcliffe, as Chesswas,Wood and Slater Company. It is a name and a brand first used in 1895 By Mr J.G Chesswas for most retail products and later established in 1918 By Mr A.E Chesswas and later his son for its luxury products. Chesswas is owned and run by the great nephew and his sons, of Mr A.E.Chesswas and is committed to continuing to provide the customer with over a century of retail experience and an eye for exquisite class and elegance in our designs and the designs of other master craftsmen. The Chesswas family have been craftsmen, artisans and producers of fine goods for centuries and look forward to your continued and new custom. The opening of our online store coincides with our manufacturing bicentennial and retail centennial.
